Train strikes tomorrow
A planned strike by ProRail traffic control employees tomorrow will halt train services in Limburg and parts of Brabant until 9:00 AM. Commuters to Eindhoven and beyond should prepare for delays and reduced train availability.
The trade union FNV has announced a strike at the ProRail traffic control centers in Eindhoven and Maastricht on Wednesday, November 20. As a result, no trains will run in Limburg and a large part of Brabant until 9:00 AM. This is expected to cause significant disruptions for travelers heading to Eindhoven, also those commuting to TU/e.
Impact on train routes
In addition to the halt in train services within Limburg and Brabant, the strike’s effects will extend to other areas. As seen on previous strike days, fewer trains will run between Amsterdam Centraal, Utrecht Centraal, and Geldermalsen, potentially causing delays or overcrowding on alternative routes.
How to Prepare
- Check NS’s Trip Planner: Stay updated by checking travel routes shortly before your departure for real-time information and any adjustments to your commute.
- Consider Alternative Travel: If possible, explore other modes of transport to ensure you can reach your destination on time.
Plan ahead to minimize disruptions and ensure a smooth journey to Eindhoven or other destinations impacted by the strike.
