How are you really doing? And when things are not going so well for a while, do you discuss it with your friends, family or fellow students? Or perhaps with your academic advisor? How you feel (your wellbeing) has a lot of influence on your student life and study success. That is why we pay a lot of attention to your wellbeing during your studies and offer all kinds of guidance, tools and activities to enhance your wellbeing and develop skills to help you cope with the challenges you face.

Taking care of yourself and each other

Everyone feels low sometimes – it is part of life and is what makes us human. Having a couple of days in which you do not feel at your best is totally normal. In moments like these we may need to take a little extra care of ourselves and each other. This looks different to everyone.

How can you take care of yourself and others?

  • Ask for support if you feel you need it. Below you can find an overview of the various sources of support we offer.
  • Stay connected – a good social support network is key to a positive wellbeing. Want to meet new people and expand your social network in Eindhoven? Join an event from one of our many associations.
  • If you think someone else may not be doing well, reach out and ask them if they are okay.
  • Take care of your physical health. This may sound cliché, but sleeping enough, eating well and balanced meals, and getting enough movement in your day to day is the backbone to a positive wellbeing.
  • Know that it’s okay not to be okay. Student life can be tough sometimes, and that’s okay.

Where to find support?

At the TU/e we have an extensive support landscape with various professionals who are here to help you! Whether you have questions about your studies, are feeling stressed, have experienced or witnessed socially unsafe behavior, or just need someone to talk to, we are here to help, or redirect you to the appropriate support externally to the university.

Online wellbeing course platform

Would you like to work on your mental health anonymously and by yourself or with a fellow student? That’s possible via the online wellbeing course platform offered by Gezondeboel.

Dozens of courses are available to work on for example “Fear of failure”, “Loneliness”, “Selfcompassion”, “Dealing with Corona stress” or “Relaxation”, to mention some examples. There’s much more to explore, of course for TU/e students for free.
