Free menstrual products
For many students, buying menstrual products isn’t always easy, but we can help.
Even within our own community, there are people who struggle to afford essentials like pads or tampons—a situation known as menstrual poverty. This can lead to discomfort during lectures or work, and in some cases, might even cause someone to stay home.
At TU/e, we’re committed to fighting menstrual poverty by ensuring everyone has access to menstrual products.
Here’s how we’re making a difference:
Annual donation to the Poverty Fund
In Eindhoven, the Poverty Fund has established menstrual product dispensing points (MUPs) at various locations. These MUPs provide free menstrual products in different types, sizes, and brands—including menstrual cups. TU/e supports this initiative by donating €2,500 annually to the Poverty Fund, helping to keep these MUPs stocked and accessible.
There are 20 MUPs in Eindhoven. You can find the one closest to you by visiting the Armoede fonds website.
Emergency stock of sanitary pads and tampons
Need a menstrual product on campus? An emergency stock of sanitary pads and tampons is available at the receptions in all buildings. Just ask at the reception desk, and they’ll provide you with what you need.
