You may need certain digital tools in order to take part in education, for instance, if you have a visual or hearing impairment. Examples of digital tools include a laptop or text-to-speech and dictation software.
These tools are supported by TU/e:
- ReadSpeaker is text-to-speech software that can be used within ANS, the digital assessment platform. A teacher can turn on ReadSpeaker for the entire test, every student who takes the test can use the software.
- ReadSpeaker SpeakUp is text-to-speech software that is used on TU/e workstations for exams. Three licensed workstations are available.
- Immersive Reader is text-to-speech software from Microsoft, and can be used within Canvas, Teams, Outlook and Word.
- The applications from Microsoft and ANS all have the ability to adjust the contrast of the screen and increase the format of the characters on the screen.
- There are three workstations available for students whose handwriting is (almost) impossible to read.
