SFC05 - Effective Learning: Get Used to Uni and Master Your Studies

For whom?

Especially for first-year students who have difficulties with their study approach at the university. Maybe VWO (pre-university) was very easy for you, but studying at university is a bit disappointing. Or maybe you already had to work in pre-university education (VWO) and now seek to study more effectively so you still have time for enjoyable activities? Not surprising, a lot has changed and you have more responsibilities. Are you a second-year student and do you want to learn more skills to study more efficiently and effectively? Of course you can also register.

What’s your gain?

Learning is a matter of developing skills and techniques that work for you. The university works very differently from pre-university education, so it could just be that you have not yet developed a number of skills (well-enough). After this training you will have learned the skills needed to study at university. You do this in a way that suits you, so that you can study as efficiently and effectively as possible.

How does it work?

You have a lot of course material to digest . How are you going to keep track of all of it? Have you got a clear idea of what is expected of you? Where do lectures and instructions fit in this scheme? How can you make a weekly planning? What is an efficient way of reading books and articles? Can you separate important matters from the less essential ones? How can you best prepare for an exam? We will focus on these topics so that you can make a success of your studies, and there's enough space for all your questions.
