The internship will be finalized with a report (in English), a summary (in English and Dutch) and a presentation (in English). Internship presentation is by default held on campus. Give students an opportunity, only in extraordinary cases and with the consent of the Tue supervisor, to do the presentation online. The components that will be assessed are the internship in itself (amount of work, level, quality, inventiveness), the report and the presentation. Grades will be rounded to half grades.
The criteria for external internships are included in Appendix 4 of the Faculty Assessment Policy, which can be found here.
Report
Once the date for submitting the final verson of the report has been set, the final presentation and evaluation interview will be planned. This should be done in consultation with your TU/e supervisor.
The internship report can be submitted digitally via this website, under internship reports (these are treated confidentially).
Always use the correct template for the coverpage of your report. BME templates can be found at the bottom of this page under downloads. Besides that, the following information should be included on your title page:
- Title of the project;
- Name and student number;
- Master (track) and cluster/group;
- Coursecode of your specialization;
- Location of the external internship;
- Names and positions of supervisors;
- Start and end dates of the project.
presentation
Date and time of the presentation should be determined in consultation with your mentor/graduation professor. Your mentor and graduation professor should always be present at your presentation and all other interested parties can be invited one week prior by sending an e-mail to the secretary of your group and to BME.boardsecretariat@tue.nl. The e-mail to the secretaries should include: your name, project title, short summary of your presentation, date, time and location of your presentation.
