Preparation FMP

Curriculum overview - start in September 2021

Students who started on or after September 2021 can register for the Preparation Final Master Project or in short Preparation FMP (20 ECTS) as one of the options during the M21 semester.

You do not need to register for the FMP Proposal separately on Osiris.

Background

The various options offered during the M21 semester were designed to support you in your competence development towards your Final Master Project and graduation.

Within the Preparation FMP you can choose one of the following two set-ups:

  • Undertake the first part of the Final Master Project and develop the FMP proposal eventually as a conclusion of the M21 semester.
  • Undertake a design project that is (in topic) not connected to the (future) Final Master Project and in parallel develop the FMP proposal.

You will be assessed at the end of the semester for both the project and proposal part (20 ECTS) at the Department of Industrial Design.

Please note that the project should be a complete learning experience that can be assessed as a design or design research project following the rubrics.

You need to register for DPM490 and inform the exchange coordinator in time, to register in Mobility Online.

Coaching and support

The graduation mentor will support you during Preparation FMP. You are encouraged to involve other experts, clients, and stakeholders.

In case of personal circumstances, students need to contact the academic advisor as soon as possible and before the project deadlines.

Collaborating with external parties

During the Preparation FMP, you will have the opportunity to work with external parties. You should consult theCollaborating with external parties page for more information.

It is necessary that project/activities are assessed according to TU/e rules. This ensures results are recorded and archived for educational (and assessment) purposes.

You can contact the internship coordinator for more information on contracts.
