Student assistantship

Becoming a student assistant at TU/e offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience. As a student assistant, you will support faculty members and enhance your skills in a professional setting. Procedure for Student Assistants

Student assistants can play a role in both education and research within a capacity group or a department of the faculty IE&IS. Only students who obtain a propedeuse diploma or can show a propedeuse certificate, and who are registered as students, are allowed to apply for a student assistant position.

Steps to Apply:

  1. Send Your Resume: Interested students can send their resume to the secretary of the capacity group or department of their interest or visit the Euflex Technificent website for job vacancies.
  2. Follow-Up: You may be contacted to provide additional information or receive an invitation for a job interview.
  3. Register with Euflex: After getting a placement, you need to register with Euflex. You will be contacted by Euflex to submit additional information if necessary. 
    • Non-EU Residents: Non-EU residents need a working permit. After application, this will be taken care of for you by the secretary of the capacity group or department and Euflex.

Conditions for your application

ECTS and FTE Requirements:

Second Year 60 ECTS 0,3 fte
Third Year 120 ECTS 0,4 fte
Fourth Year 180 ECTS 0,5 fte

The starting point for your salary is based on the ECTS you have at the moment of application and is not adjusted during the contract period.

Important Notes:

  • The gross salaries includes a settlement for leave days; therefore, student assistants do not have leave days.
  • Salaries are based on the CAO (collective labor agreement) and TU/e conditions and will be adjusted if either the CAO or TU/e conditions change.
  • Working students (werkstudenten) are not always scaled based on their ECTS. For example, student ambassadors (voorlichtingsstudenten) always receive the 2nd/3rd year salary. Always check the individual vacancy for specific salary scaling details.
