Student guidance

Academic Advisor

When studying during your pre-Master’s program a lot of questions can arise in the fields of study approach, study planning, courses, fear of exams, personal circumstances and more. In these situations you can go to your academic advisor for help. You can contact your academic advisor by mail or you can make a personal appointment. Please, use this link to make an appointment. All conversations with the academic advisor are confidential.

Student mentor

All new pre-Master students with a first enrollment at TU/e will be assigned to a student mentor. A mentor will help you find your way in studying at TU/e. He or she is your first point of contact in case of questions. During the first semester you will have regular meetings with your mentor group. Various topics will be covered, like study management, education systems, where to go in case of questions, student associations, etc. By participating in this mentor group you will meet fellow students and get the opportunity to pleasantly integrate in the TU/e community.

Meetings

Each quarter your academic advisor arranges a joint meeting with all students of the pre-Master's program. These meetings have an informative character. It is recommended to attend these meetings, because new and important information about the (pre-) Masters program will be shared.

Proactive monitoring

Your academic advisor actively monitors your study progress throughout your program. Based on your obtained credits so far the academic advisor can invite you for an individual progress meeting. Together you discuss your study situation and possible further actions.

Additional guidance

The Education and Student Affairs (ESA) team offers extra support, courses and workshops in the fields of study managementcareer development, self confidence and master selection. It is also possible to make an appointment with a student counselor or psychologist from ESA when you experience some difficult personal circumstances. Please ask your academic advisor for more information.
