Professional Identity and Vision

Professional Identity and Vision

As part of the Major courses, the Professional Identity and Vision learning line allows students to reflect on and present the development of their Professional Identity and Vision throughout the bachelor program. This learning line helps them to define the direction and learning goals for their Final Bachelor Project.

Professional Identity and Vision Year 1 (DPB381)

The course Professional Identity and Vision DPB381 Year 1 is the first part of the learning line Professional Identity and Vision. In the first year, students within the course are supported in bi-weekly meetings by a student mentor, who helps them shape their professional identity and vision. Bi-weekly exercises also help shape these two pillars of Industrial Design and teach professional skills such as reflecting, writing and communicating. These are taught by exercises in which students, individually or in teams, write about their professional identity and vision and regularly reflect on these by presenting their work to their peers and mentors. In the second semester of the first year there is a strong link between the PI&V learning line and Project 1

Professional Identity and Vision Year 2 (DPB382)

During the second academic year of the Professional Identity and Vision learning line, students are supported by a teacher coach throughout four compulsory meetings. Furthermore, l workshops and exercises are organized by the student mentors organized in order to help students continue development of their professional identity and vision. These are more career oriented than in the previous year and help students direct their study goals towards concrete future possibilities and ambitions.

Professional Identity and Vision Year 3 (DPB383 and DPB380)

Students enrolled in the third year of the Professional Identity and Vision learning line follow two program:

  • DPB383 contains all exercises and aims to finalize students’ development regarding professional identity and vision.
  • DPB380 does not contain any exercises, but is for assessment purposes and through this course students receive 5 ECTS when they successfully finalize their Professional Identity and Vision course during their Final Bachelor assessment

Assessment

The assessment of the PI&V learning line takes place during the examination of your Final Bachelor Project. The assessment of Professional Identity and Vision in your FBP report and Portfolio should be at least sufficient. If this is the case, the ECTS for this course will be added by the Center for Student Administration (CSA ID).
