Educational lab requirements and facilities

For your Electrical Engineering studies at TU/e, you will need some specific study materials like the HomeLab-kit and a PYNQ-Z2 Board. You can follow the different procedures for payment for both of these items. Please note that the required funds need to be transferred before you can collect the materials. If you have transferred the funds before the book sale pick-up moment, organized by Thor, the pick-up of the HomeLab and PYNQ can be combined so you have everything you need before the start of the academic year. For 2024-2025 the pick-up moment will be on Thursday, August 29, in Flux 0.095 between 10.00 and 15.00.

Soldering Lab facility

As a privilege for all students registered for an educational program in the department of Electrical Engineering, the Soldering Lab facility can be used when not already reserved for courses or other activities. You can check this in Outlook using the room designator "Flux 0.129 (EE Lab)" to see when the lab is free. This lab is also available to work on personal hobby projects if you comply with the house rules. The door can be unlocked with your campus card, after having it ‘activated’ on one of the activation terminals available on campus (nearest are reception Flux or both sides of the elevators in Flux). This activation procedure is to be repeated every day you need to open the door; the activation only lasts for a day.
If for whatever reason you can’t open the door, there might be an issue with your campus card or the assigned credentials. Both issues can be checked by Facility Services Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics in Flux 0.154.
