Project description

Light allows us to see, to experience our environment, and in recent years scientists have discovered that light is also beneficial for supporting our circadian system. A good working circadian system is crucial to our health; a good working circadian system aligns all bodily processes, amongst which, make us sleep during nighttime and awake during daytime. Interesting findings have shown that our circadian clock alters when ageing. Children are in general early chronotypes, while young adolescents are relatively late chronotypes. But lecture hours start at 8:45h, the time that most students are still in their sleeping phase and then most of the lecturers leave you in the dark to improve the visibility of the lecture slides.

Can you find lighting solutions that can help you as a student, to wake up in time, find enough sleep and stay concentrated during lecture times in windowless lecture rooms, yet still see the slides. Next to the lighting system, we challenge you to come up with other systems to help you to better concentrate even during boring lectures.
