The Team internship (5ARIP10, former Interdisciplinary Team Project) is a Challenge-Based-Learning team project in which students collaborate in teams to apply their knowledge on Artificial Intelligence and Engineering Systems to resolve a practical engineering problem within a project either in a company, or with a laboratory set-up on campus. The project involves an application that is relevant to the specific track that the students follow in the AI&ES program.
The Team internship is scheduled in Q3 and Q4 of the 1st year. Each track has a fixed timeslot per quarter:
- Q3, timeslot C - track 2, 3, 4, 5 and E - track 1 and 6
- Q4, timeslot A - track 2, 3, 4, 5 and B - track 1 and 6
You may enroll in the Team internship once you have obtained 10 ECTS in core or specialization courses. In special cases deviations from the entrance requirement are possible. You can submit a request for this at the Examination Committee AI&ES. The entrance requirement also holds for students who enrol in the master program AI&ES in February.
Teams of 3 to 5 students work on realistic and open-ended problems connected to industrial applications under the supervision of a staff member. The Team internship cannot be replaced by another team project. Developing professional skills, such as research planning, writing, presenting and collaborative multi-disciplinary teamwork is an important learning objective of the Team internship. You are trained in these professional skills via workshops that focus on the deliverables of the Team internship.
Please be aware of the registration deadlines for enrolling in courses and examinations.
